By role · Practice manager
You are the integration layer between six systems.
Every gap between the scheduling tool, the EHR, the billing service and the payroll system is filled by you or by someone at your front desk retyping something. That work is invisible, unbillable, and it is most of the week.
One login, one invoice. The consolidation is the feature.
Your week
Six things that eat the time you don't have.
Unisona Health gives behavioral health practice managers one login and one invoice for intake, scheduling, clinical, billing and timekeeping. Web intake becomes the chart, patients book and reschedule themselves, balances are collected by payment link, and approved hours export to Gusto, ADP or Paychex, so staff stop retyping between six systems.
None of these are clinical problems. All of them are seams between systems that were never designed to know about each other.
The same patient entered into intake, the EHR and the billing system, with a typo waiting in one of them.
Every change to the calendar is a call, because patients cannot move their own appointments.
Slots that a reminder or a self-service reschedule would have recovered.
Hours collected on paper or in a second system, then typed into payroll.
A new tech has to be created in every system, and remembered in every one when they leave.
Six vendors, six renewal dates, and no single view of what the practice spends on software.

By role
Owner / executive
Occupancy is in one head, denials in another, payroll in a system nobody logs into. Every question costs someone half a day, and the answer arrives stale.

Clinical director
Notes are late, some nearly identical, plan reviews are due, and two clinicians are carrying too much. None of it shows until it becomes a finding or a denial.

Billing manager
A third of your denial queue traces back to something that happened before the claim existed: an authorization nobody watched, a credential that lapsed.

Compliance officer
Access records, consent documentation, training completion, credential files, incident logs — all producible on demand, from systems you do not control.

Someone in crisis calls several places. Whether they end up with you comes down to how fast you respond and whether you can say yes to a bed tonight.

How migration works
Migration is a data question, not a project-management one. Exactly which records move by default, which move on request, and which are better left alone.

Clearinghouse included
Claims go out, remittances come back, and eligibility runs through Claim.MD — connectivity already built in, priced in, and enrolled on your behalf.

Implementation
Implementation is not a project you staff. It is four weeks of configuration, data migration and parallel running, with your programs running normally.

What is the best EHR for a behavioral health practice manager?
One that removes the retyping between systems. Unisona Health runs intake, scheduling, documentation, billing and timekeeping on one subscription, so a patient entered once on the web intake form carries through to the chart, the appointment and the claim. A new hire is one staff record carrying credentials, training assignments and permissions, instead of an account in every system.
Can patients book and reschedule their own appointments?
Yes. Open slots are offered by program, with text and email reminders and one-tap rescheduling, so calendar changes stop being phone calls to the front desk. Attendance is recorded on the appointment that generates the claim, which means your no-show rate is a number you already have.
Does Unisona Health replace our payroll provider?
No. It handles timekeeping and keeps your payroll provider. Staff clock in against their assigned shift, differentials and PTO apply by rule, and approved hours export to Gusto, ADP or Paychex, which continue to handle tax filing. Nothing is retyped between the schedule and payroll.
How do patients pay their balances?
By a payment link sent by text and email that takes a card or ACH from a phone, with no account or portal password. Balances are calculated from the remittance, statements show what insurance paid and what is left, and payment plans run automatically on the card on file.
How is Unisona Health priced for a group practice?
Per staff seat, published on the pricing page: $85, $80 or $75 per seat a month for 6–15, 16–30 and 31+ seats, with admin and billing seats at $60 and interns at $25. Patients are unlimited, plans are monthly, and there is no implementation fee on Group Practice.
