Replaces · Your LMS

Your LMS doesn't know who works for you.

Every new hire is created twice and every departure has to be remembered twice. Completion reports are exported and reconciled against a staff list that lives somewhere else, usually the week before a survey.

The real invoice

What it costs, including the parts that never appear on one.

Unisona Health replaces a standalone LMS with a training library that sits beside the staff record. Modules are assigned by role, completed in the platform, and recorded with a date and a score for seven years, so new hires are created once and each person's training file is producible for a surveyor on demand.

The subscription is the visible line. Everything marked hidden below is paid in staff hours or in revenue that quietly never arrives.

What a standalone LMS costs34-person facility, illustrative
SubscriptionTypically per active learner, per month.
$4–8 / person
Dual onboardingEach new hire created in the LMS as well as in the staff record.
~2 hrs / hire
Offboarding missedDeparted staff left active, which inflates the bill and the completion denominator.
Overpayment
Reconciling completionExporting a report and matching it against a current roster by hand.
~4 hrs / mo
Survey preparationAssembling per-person training files from two systems under a deadline.
1–2 days / cycle
True monthly cost$140–270 plus a recurring reconciliation

Illustrative. Subscription ranges are typical rather than quoted, and the hour estimates come from the programs we built this with. Your numbers will differ — the point is which lines are on the invoice and which are not.

Where it breaks

Four seams, all of them at the same boundary.

Two staff lists

The LMS roster and your actual roster agree only immediately after someone reconciles them.

Training disconnected from credentials

A module required for a credential is tracked in one system and the credential in another.

Role changes do not propagate

A tech who becomes a supervisor keeps the old assignments until someone notices.

Evidence assembled, not produced

A surveyor asks for a training file and it has to be built rather than printed.

What an LMS does well

Course authoring, media hosting and quiz logic are real capabilities, and dedicated platforms do them properly. The problem is that training is an HR fact about a person, and an LMS is the only system in your stack that has to be told who your people are.

Switching

What moving actually involves.

No implementation fee on Solo or Group Practice. Larger migrations with historical data are quoted separately.

Upload your modules

Video, documents and slides with your existing quizzes and thresholds.

Step 1
Assign by role

New-hire tracks and annual requirements mapped to job roles rather than to individuals.

Step 2
Import completion history

Past completions and dates attached to each staff record.

Step 3
Produce one training file

Confirm a per-person export is what your surveyor expects before you switch off the old system.

Step 4

The roster is the whole problem

Every failure mode here comes from the same place: a system responsible for tracking your staff that has no independent way of knowing who they are.

Bring your current stack to a walkthrough and we will go through it line by line, including the ones we cannot replace.

Questions

Common questions.

Can an EHR replace our staff training LMS?

Yes, for onboarding and compliance training. Unisona Health's training library assigns modules by role, records completion with a date and a score against the staff record, and retains records for seven years. Because training lives beside the roster, new hires are created once and departed staff don't linger as active learners.

Can we upload our own training modules?

Yes. Upload video, documents and slides with your existing quizzes and passing thresholds, or use the included library, which covers topics such as 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, de-escalation and medication administration, and mix the two. Completion is recorded per person with a date and a score.

How do we produce training records for CARF or Joint Commission?

Export the per-person training file. Completion is tracked to a name and date and retained for seven years, so a surveyor's request is printed rather than assembled from two systems. Before switching off your old LMS, confirm that a per-person export is what your surveyor expects.

Can we bring our training completion history across?

Yes. Past completions and their dates are imported and attached to each staff record, alongside your uploaded modules. New-hire tracks and annual requirements are then mapped to job roles rather than to individuals, so survey history is kept when the old LMS is switched off.
